EJC President Moshe Kantor re-elected as Chairman of World Jewish Congress' Policy Council

European Jewish Congress congratulates its President, Dr. Moshe Kantor, on his re-election as Chairman of the World Jewish Congress Policy Council.

Dr. Moshe Kantor was re-elected as Chairman of the World Jewish Congress Policy Council during the 15th Plenary Assembly held in New York that was attended by over 600 delegates from 90 countries.

The delegates greeted with applause the re-election of Amb. Ronald Lauder as WJC President and Dr. Moshe Kantor as Chairman of WJC Policy Council.

Kantor expressed his readiness and commitment to ensure the missions of the WJC Policy Council are fulfilled for the benefit of World Jewry and called upon the WJC Governing Board to form the Policy Council by electing its members as soon as possible in order to start working alongside affiliated communities.

In his address, Moshe Kantor pointed out that strange and often dangerous coalitions exist across the political spectrum, both in Europe and in the United States, that make Antisemitism part of their political message.  "Radicals from all sides remove taboos - Antisemitism becomes trivial, routine, normal and when we complain, extremists on the right and left tell Jews that we are "weaponising" Antisemitism. This is a new form of a very old Antisemitism. Jews are perpetrators while anti-Semites are victims", Kantor said.
