In light of the alarming wave of anti-Semitic attacks that have riddled the European continent in the last two weeks, the European Jewish Congress urges the European Union institutions to take action against the attacks.

Violent anti-Semitic attacks on individuals, acts of vandalism of Jewish sites and calls for the incitement of hatred during demonstrations cannot be tolerated in Europe. They are a transgression of the democratic values that our societies are built upon.

European governments and European Union institutions have the obligation to speak out against all acts of anti-Semitism and bring perpetrators to justice. The EJC urges the European Parliament to pass a resolution condemning the recent wave of anti-Semitic incidents.
